“But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree and he requested for himself that he might die…. 1 Kings 19:4
Elijah was one of God’s greatest prophets. He could call fire down from heaven and turn an entire nation to God in one day. But Queen Jezebel became angry, she sent a death warrant out for Elijah’s life. So the prophet fled the country and found refuge in the wilderness. He was physically and emotionally was drained and wanted to die.
Today, many of us live in a fast pace world. We are overloaded, overworked and overstretched. We might even be fighting depression brought on by mental and physical fatigue. How did God minster to Elijah? He allowed him to go to sleep and then He fed him. When Elijah’s body was strengthened, nourished and renewed, he returned to his work for God refreshed.
If you are worn out physically, mentally, emotionally and most of all spiritually, beware these things can lead you astray. Find some time, a day, a weekend and rest your body and mind. Fill your mind with the Word of God and fill your heart with His divine presence.
DEPRESSION IS OFTEN A RESULT OF FATIQUE, TAKE TIME TO REST AND BECOME ONCE AGAIN STRONG IN THE LORD!!!!
