“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find,’ knock, and it will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
If it is hard for you to pray, and we all have our moments. Today’s scripture may help. Jesus says, “We are to keep asking, seeking and pounding on heaven’s door until we get the answer.” Even Jesus learned from His struggles in prayer. The Bible says, “Who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.” Heb. 5:7-8
Jesus was perfect and His struggles proved His perfections. Jesus is excited for you to experience the lessons He learned. He wants us all to take hold of His promises. He wants us to buckle down and earnestly desire to pray. “Ask, Seek, Knock” are the keys to an exciting, fulfilling time with God.
When Jesus was in Gethsemane, He prayed so earnestly that He sweat drops of blood. When He returned to His disciples, they were sleeping not praying as He asked them too. He said, “The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.” Friends, it is time we stop being easy on ourselves. There are many Christian believers who have babied themselves too long when it comes to a deep prayer life. Isn’t it time to bombard the portals of heaven with earnest prayer?
